For Your Consideration: Les Misérables

Considered one of the strongest competitors at this year’s Oscars, even before it’s release, “Les Misérables” will easily snag certain nominations, including a return to the Best Director category for Tom Hooper, after his win in 2010 for directing “The King’s Speech”. Expect “Les Misérables” to get Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Art Direction, and Best Original Song nominations as well. Don’t rule out Best Actor and Best Supporting role nominations, either. In fact, don’t count out any awards, as this will probably be Universal’s juggernaut, facing “Lincoln” as one of the only strong period piece contenders.
